The Camera Club
Our club serves the community in a wide area, in and around the town of Tring. Our principle aim is to have fun, learning about photography.
Our origins go back over 110 years!
On January 30th 1904 the local Tring paper said in their report titled "Amateur Photography": "Considerable interest is now taken in photography in the district and there are several photographers of no mean attainment in the town. The question of forming a local photographic association has been mooted and there seems every reason to think such a society would fill a useful purpose."
A modern club and active in the community
Today, the club plays an active part in the community. Members use their photographic talents to record local events and share their skills. We work closely with the Tring Local History Museum and together we have recently launched an app – ‘Tring Heritage Trail’. This is a guide to the rich history of Tring in pictures and words. It is available for free on the App store or Google Play. (click here to learn more)
In 2015, to celebrate the 700th Anniversary of the town receiving a market charter, members of the club created a substantial photographic archive of over 1400 images of Tring. This can be seen by clicking here.

The Club is a member of the Chiltern Association of Camera Clubs - this gives us access to a wider community of clubs, activities and competitions.
